The owner started her up, and a throaty purr errupted from the engine bay. First impressions were bad as the paintwork had achieved that Australian summer look aka chalky and there was evidence of a couple a small dings. On closer inspection though it was clear that she was definately worthy of the work to come. The dash was excellent, and most things were in good order. I started building a "list of things to do" in my head.. which was soon filled... and the time came to drive her home.
As my first experience with a Manual Column shift, it took a little while to make it a smooth journey, but after a couple of miles things were going well. The Westgate Freeway and associated hills were no trouble at all and quite a few people peered in astonishment as this pink bomb came hurtling up the left lane.
Home in one piece... we put her to bed in the garage, a place where some minor and major surgery is yet to happen.
